![]() My latest commissioned caricature done for a repeat client. This one is her nieces new horse and goes with the previous piece of her niece and old horse. I hope she enjoys it as much as the first one and I wish her a happy belated birthday

![]() This weekend I attended my very first ever life drawing workshop (at Splashout Studios Art) with the very talented local artist and wonderful teacher Krystyna Ciesiolkiewicz. A fun day which just flew by, but was quite brain drained by the time I got home (I needed a nanna nap). Don't think I'll be doing any commissioned pieces for a very long while (if ever hehe) but enjoyed the experience and look forward to more practice in the future. I'll keep this work for prosperity - should be interesting to look back in a couple of years to see if I've improved any.
i've also just put up my next display at Ekhidna, titled "Colourfield". some smaller (30x30cm) pieces to brighten up that little corner or room (and only $20 each), so if you're interested in any of the below paintings, why not pop down to Ekhidna Wines, Foggo Road, McLaren Vale to take a look. (ps: if you can't get down there, but are interested in any of the pieces, feel free to contact me to make other arrangements). So enjoy the wine and enjoy the art....
Well the utility room come Art Studio reno's are still a work in progress - albeit a slow work in progress. So far, we have managed to get the tiles up off the floor (which were of course, cemented in) and a new layer of cement put down to bring the floor level in line with the rest of the room. We now have to wait a couple more weeks for our tiler to come back from his holidays before he can lay the actual tiles! Oh well - it has given us an opportunity to do the painting without having to worry about spillage. That should be finished this weekend.
So this is the latest update on my website (maearts.com) - A BLOG PAGE. It's not going to be anything fancy and it definitely won't be too long winded "coz it just won't be". Just anything I feel like sharing in relation to my trials and tribulations happening in my little world of art. (Please try out my feed and let me know if any bugs your end).
